What We Offer
Our skilled Speech Pathologists work with children who may have difficulties communicating. This includes speaking clearly, expressing ideas, following directions, understanding new information and participating in play and literacy activities. We also help children who may also have other difficulties or a specific diagnosis.
Assessment and therapy sessions can be held in our clinic rooms or in your child’s preschool, school or home setting, through our mobile service. We will answer your questions about your child's communication development and work towards achieving individual goals together, providing your family with in-session support and strategies to help at home. Our therapy goals are aligned with childhood social skill development and school based learning targets designed to meet the specific learning style of your child.
Our assessment and therapy packages are designed to deliver effective services that will suit the needs of each individual family. We offer services in ways that help you and your child feel comfortable so that you can gain the full benefit of accessing the necessary support for your child.
Therapy sessions are offered weekly or fortnightly depending on your specific needs. Your Speech Pathologist will help you choose individual goals that will have the biggest impact on your child's day-to-day communication. Screening Assessment

A Speech Pathology screening assessment can offer insight and reassurance that you are providing your child with the support they need. Using a collection of screening assessment tools our wonderful therapists can gather relevant data to determine if your child’s speech, language, play and social skill development is appropriate for their age.
You will receive a summary letter to outline your child’s screening assessment results and recommended next steps. This may outline preliminary therapy goals, suggest further assessment is needed or state that your child’s communication skills are appropriate for their age.
Comprehensive Assessment
If your child is having difficulties communicating, a comprehensive Speech Pathology assessment can provide clarity on which areas of development may benefit from additional support.
At Shellharbour Speech Pathology, we use a combination of structured and interactive assessments, combined with well-developed clinical observation and collaborative interview-based tasks to ensure that your child is provided with a professional and comprehensive service.
You will receive a detailed report and written recommendations to share with your child’s health care team and education providers as needed.
